The most common fruit grown commercially in the South Downs is the grape, thanks to the warm summers, cool winters and chalky soils.

There are over 50 vineyards in the National Park, employing 358 people, attracting approximately 33,000 visitors a year and contributing directly around £24.5 million to the local economy and £54m to the wider economy. Cheers!
